Hagedorn Meets with Constituents at Town Hall in Houston County
LA CRESCENT, Minn. – This evening, Congressman Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) met with Houston County residents at the La Crescent Area Event Center as part of his town hall tour across southern Minnesota.
This was Hagedorn’s seventh in-person town hall meeting since he began a 21-county town hall tour in early June.
More than 80 constituents attended the event. Hagedorn answered 16 questions – all of which were asked by Houston County residents – on a wide range of topics including healthcare, impeachment proceedings, and his recently introduced vocational training legislation, the “American Workforce Empowerment Act,” H.R. 4469.
Hagedorn articulated his agriculture, small business and medical care agenda to defend the economic interests of constituents and local enterprises. Additionally, Hagedorn, who once again expressed stern opposition to the “divisive Democrat impeachment agenda,” highlighted his issue-oriented priorities to keep America safe, reform the federal government to expand economic growth, and defend the Constitutional Rights of the American people.
“Serving the hardworking people of southern Minnesota in Congress is an honor and a privilege. I always enjoy hearing from my constituents and discussing the issues that are important to their daily lives. Since being sworn into Congress, I have made 36 return trips to southern Minnesota and have held more than 150 meetings in the district. I look forward to continuing these discussions across the First District and working towards bipartisan solutions on USMCA and other trade agreements, infrastructure, lowering prescription drug prices, border security and other issues vital to southern Minnesotans and our rural way of life,” said Hagedorn.
Jim Hagedorn was elected in 2018 to represent Minnesota’s First District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He grew up on his family’s grain and livestock farm near Truman. Jim’s father, former U.S. Congressman Tom Hagedorn (MN-02), grandfather, and great-grandfather were all southern Minnesota farmers. Jim currently resides in the rural farming community of Blue Earth. Hagedorn brings policy experience to Capitol Hill from time spent as a congressional aide to former U.S. Congressman Arlan Stangeland (MN-07) and a congressional relations officer for two non-partisan U.S. Department of the Treasury agencies. Hagedorn serves on the House Committees on Agriculture and Small Business to promote farming, Main Street enterprises and southern Minnesota’s way of life.
